The Cycle of Healing

Sharing stories of hope, new life, and rejuvenation.
Healthcare
The James D. Eason Transplant Institute at UT Methodist University Hospital is nationally recognized for its success with kidney, liver, kidney-pancreas, and pancreas transplants.

The Institute offers hope and a second chance at life, with doctors and staff advancing their mission of donation. Relative Scale developed two media installations for the new facility, exploring the cycle of healing: giving, serving, and receiving.

Inspired by the Healing Garden, the 16-screen media wall illustrates the virtuous healing cycle with a sequence of animating petals, interspersed with patient quotes. Petals represent transplants, with unique characteristics indicating additional information about the type of transplant.

The fourth-floor interactive explores the Cycle of Healing and the Institute’s impact. Patients can celebrate their transplant by planting a digital flower, displayed on the first-floor media wall

I can’t emphasize enough the importance of being an organ donor.
