Hangar 2 Exhibits

Honoring the pilots who transformed women’s role in military aviation.
Museum
During World War II, the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) trained in Sweetwater, Texas to support the war effort through non-combat aviation.

The National WASP WWII Museum, located on their original airfield, honors their legacy. Relative Scale created three media experiences to celebrate their achievements.

In Hangar 2, guests watch Welcome to Sweetwater, an orientation film introducing the WASP training program. Styled like a WWII-era newsreel, it captures the history, mission, and trainee experience, immersing visitors in the period.

The WASP: Rollcall interactive lets guests explore pilots and staff from the WASP training program. Visitors search by name, hometown, or photo to view detailed bios, with museum staff able to update entries.

In recreated WASP living quarters, the Virtual Student video features an actress portraying a trainee, sharing her daily routine and flight equipment in an immersive firsthand account.
